Provider Vacations and Absences from RHC Prenatal Groups Provider Vacations and Absences from Prenatal Groups What to Do
If you are requesting vacation or other advanced cancellation, write on the vacation request form that you will miss a perinatal group and to please arrange coverage.
If the absence includes a group, please send the request to Chris Houser (christine.houser@hsd.cccounty.us) in addition to Jeanette, if cancelling FPCs and JoAnn, if cancelling precepting.
If you are calling in sick, please let Catherine or Jeanette know if you are scheduled for a group.
What will happen then is much like what happens to cover regular prenatal clinics.
Chris will attempt to find someone willing and able to cover amongst those qualified to work groups. If this is more than 35 days in advance, her options include canceling the FPC of a willing provider. The group will not be cancelled and will remain in the name of the original provider, with a covering provider indicated in EPIC.
If there is no covering provider available, the group will still run, with the nursing staff and healthy start staff providing the educational and group support component, and reappointing patients as individually needed for medical checks.
